Reviews for Demonic Dora
“She’s smart, smart mouth, alert, observant, vulnerable, kick ass, insecure, lovelorn, wise and immature. She is a kaleidoscope of teen girl emotions, wrapped up in a hard candy coating.” Pop Bop, Top 500 Reviewer on Amazon.
“Demonic Dora is like enjoying cotton candy at a heavy metal concert.” upallnightnovels.com.
She’s finally managed to summon her first demon…
Dora Carridine is trying to summon a demon, but she’s not very good at Latin and nothing ever works out the way she plans.
Her life is fraught with weekly exorcisms and having to watch her father’s fire and brimstone TV show every Sunday. So, when she finally succeeds in summoning an incompetent demon lord, she’s absolutely delighted when all hell breaks loose.
She thought summoning a sexy demon lord would be the answer to all of her problems, but her problems are only just beginning when her zealot parents try to burn her at the stake, and Dora is left with only one option—to escape and follow her demon straight into Hell.

Demonic Dora is a funny, witty little thing that’ll keep you wanting for more. It starts out with Dora’s parent’s wanting to burn her–thinking there’s a demon who’s possessed her, until an actual demon shows up to save her! Dora has no option but to follow Kerion back to Hell, where she finally thinks she’ll belong. But struggling to keep her soul alive, pleasing Kerion’s mom, and trying to survive horrible vengeful teachers in Hell isn’t as easy as she thought. Maybe she can fight her way out…
Dora teaches you to be yourself in the simplest possible way- by being yourself. Yes, it’s as simple as that. A good laugh and a good lesson, Demonic Dora it is.
PS. If you do read the book, look out for Pooey. You can’t not like him. You just can’t.

In need for a good story? One with a strong heroine, twists, turns and comicality with a real plot and good narration? Seek no further fellow bookworms -eh, comrades? Yes it’s a paranormal story with a fun storyline. But not an ordinary one, this is epic in the ‘have fun department’
Dora is an oppressed teenager surrounded by psychos, a strong human girl with ill-fated interest in black magic; she is surrounded by truly insane, hypothetical religious zealots with bad taste and no sense of humor. She is falsely accused and condemned, while being innocent; yet she doesn’t lose her sense of identity, quite the opposite she does struggle with barbecuing fire and evil, eccentric demons but she prevails as herself, mostly… No plot spoilers or the fun purchase would be void.
Young, impressionable Dora keeps marching on towards self-discovery. Yes, she encounters a few minor problems, like a goodish, handsome demon trying to “seduce” her; greedy, self-absorbed and a bit dysfunctional demons giving her, let’s call it refuge; or vengeful teachers with guillotine spells and such trivialities… NO, I won’t disclose.
Through the hilarious ordeal -well not ordeal, she rides a dragon and target practices on despicable former humans-; dear Dora finds the answer to the most important existentialist dilemma: be yourself. Even if that will bring the possibility of unpleasant death or banishment(?) to earth -that is to say being kicked out from hell, don’t ask, read to enjoy [I mean find out]-…
Okay, I give up! The book is hilarious from page one to the end. *WARNING* claustrophobics keep your devices on Wifi… or else, pain wracking desperation will force you to get a copy (although, the later actually applies to every single fortunate reader).
My words won’t betray me anymore, no spoilers… Scientific proof: laughing improves your health (email me for links on the subject, only if you read medical literature). Supply and demand proof: you can buy fun, just dare yourself to find out (don’t email me for links, I only read Marx and Engels).

Picked this up and couldn’t put it down. Loved the dark comedy of this book. Read it really quickly, loved the characters, very easy to keep track of them all not the sort of book I usually read, but am hooked now, have got to carry on, already got book 2 lined up and really need to get started. Can highly recommend this book.

I really liked reading this book. Dora is an amazing, kick-ass character and I loved the story. It was unique and different than all the other stories I’ve read lately, so I can’t wait to read the next books of this series! Also, I loved Pooey. I just had to mention that. I don’t regret it 😉

I ran across this as a freebie on Amazon awhile back. I was shocked and amazed at how much I truly enjoyed it. I am addicted to these stories. Love the characters. Dora and Kieran are truly a unique concept, and Ms. Chilton has made these books such fun reads. I just had to go back and read the rest of the books that are out so far. This one is my favorite out of all of them, but I have enjoyed them all and look forward to more. Perhaps I will check out her other series as well.

I loved every bit of this story. It had the right amount of mystery and humor to keep me entertained. The chemistry between Kieron and Dora was perfect, and I loved that the heroine was so unique.

This was the first story I read by Claire Chilton, and I really enjoyed it. There aren’t many books that can make me snort coffee out of my nose while reading them, but this one did because it was hilarious. It’s not for someone who is looking for drama, but it’s great for anyone else. High comedy in an exciting new style.
